The Electronics Engineer will support Matric by understanding customer needs and their respective job duties.  They will work to increase customer engagement by providing support to current and prospective customers by demonstrating dedication to quality, quantity and safety.  The Hardware Engineer will provide solutions by designing, developing and installing hardware solutions.


The Electronics Engineer will research, design, develop, and test computer systems and components such as processors, circuit boards, memory devices, networks, and routers.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design new computer hardware, creating blueprints of equipment to be built.
  • Test the completed models of the computer hardware they design.
  • Analyze the test results and modify the design as needed.
  • Update existing computer equipment so that it will work with new software.
  • Oversee the manufacturing process for computer hardware.
  • Maintain knowledge of computer engineering trends and new technology.
  • Participates in the development of product designs for Matric and for external customers, in the areas of industrial, machine and process control.
  • Assists customers in defining the requirements for new product concepts. 
  • Performs embedded design and development hardware/software engineering work in accordance with detailed specifications. 
  • Conducts experimental tests on newly developed products and analyzes the results to establish performance criteria. 
  • Monitors product in manufacturing and field use to assure quality and conformance to requirements. 
  • Supports the RFQ process by generating engineering estimates for product and development costs. 
  • Participates in field assignments with customers and potential customers when required. 



  • BS and/or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering, Physics or Math.
  • 2-4 years' experience in digital and analog circuit design.
  • 2-4 years' experience in programming.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of embedded designs typically acquired through a combination of experience and education.
  • Programming experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to contribute to and work within assigned schedules
  • Good knowledge of hardware development processes including
  • Hardware development lifecycle
  • Project planning
  • Distributed hardware configuration management principles

Preferred Experience:

  • 5+ years of embedded hardware or systems experience
  • Experience with building Operating systems especially open source Linux,
  • Real-time and multi-threaded environments
